He may be silly but he's mickle handsome for a' that. Not to induce paranoia here, or anything, but those paws look awfully raccoony. Might the Plush One be concealing opposable thumbs? Have you ever suspiciously run out of Plushy Pate?
Not silly! By no means silly. Everyone knows that terra cotta pots were invented in ancient Mesopotamia (c. 1950 b.c.) to provide cool resting places in courtyard gardens for Mesopotamian cats.
Though not worshipped as minor deities, as they were in Egypt, Mesopotamian cats were highly regarded: as soon as their people invented poetry, cats were praised in song and story.
The first hero, Gilgamesh, had a faithful feline who kept the homestead mouse-free while waiting for her human to return from his adventures.
When Gilgamesh finally got home, his first duty was to give his cat a thorough brushing … with lots of ear scritches.
In fact, ancient Mesopotamians invented hairbrushes to better groom their cats. Later, it occurred to them to use hairbrushes on themselves.

Thus began a great civilization.
The things I learn on the internets.
ReplyDeletefour legs good
ReplyDeleteNot everything we read on the internets is necessarily true. Caveat emptor applies here too.
But it's true that the Lion Kitty is not silly.
Or not any sillier than any other much loved little furry dictator.
Oh, he's plenty silly.
