Woo hooo!!! Maxx is HOME!!!!!!!

I was out putting up flyers on each and every door when I found a woman who said, "Oh! I took him to the emergency clinic last night!"

Fuckers. I called them today and the receptionist said he wasn't there. The woman pre-paid $900.00 to take care of his expenses, which I promptly paid for. (It wasn't $900, but I don't know what the damage is.)

Maxx already wants to go outside. He's never going out AGAIN.

Whew. Thanks again for everyone's good thoughts. I'm just so relieved that he was somewhere safe.

PS. I'd post a pitcher, but it would probably scare everybody. :-)

You poor thing, you must've been frantic, posting at all hours of the AM. Your neighbour is a good person. Though I can't help wondering why she took him to the clinic and not straight home to you. His little mouf must've been bleeding again, poor baby. Now I can sleep. You two get some sleep too.

  15. Or if he must go out, let it be on a no-slip leash and harness, or carried in arms. With leash and harness at the same time. Sort of a belt-and-suspenders deal. Gads, I'm so happy, I just pinched Gojira. Now she's all mad at me.

  16. PS: I forgot to say - only post a Maxx pitcher if it's OK with him. Otherwise, I can live on Maxx memories. Oh, and the fambly here demands to know exactly what happened (rude buggers that they are), and how Maxx ended up in emergency and how you got him back. I guess I annoyed everyone with my whining. Sorry 'bout dat.

It turned out to be $592, and I had the clinic credit her credit card back- I covered the tab. Ouch.

Well, I did tell you originally that he was using up one of his lives.

So happy he's home, and what a nice neighbor you have!!

Does Maxx have a ID collar or is that not a good idea because of the tumor?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Pie, he has a collar, but his name tag had fallen off, and I hadn't replaced it because it would bounce against his chin.

I'm getting him a new one for sure now.

  39. Anonymous9:30 PM

    done.

    Been there, more than once.

Years ago my landlord in NYC, who was not a dog lover kind of guy, once took my dog to the vet after an awful emergency in my absence. acts like that are the work of angels or at the very least, a benevolent universe, and we have to keep paying it forward.

    best of luck.

  40. 4LG, he doesn't need a new name tag now that he's home and safe and never ever allowed outside without you by his side!
