I know cats. No cat sleeps with his tail sticking straight up. Or her tail, as the case may be. So is that great hairy brush a prop, used to dress your photo sets? Your cats are quite pretty. You don't need to dress them up in costume to get a usable shot. Really, they are attractive. Not as beautiful as my cats, but still quite nice.
