Mystery Flowers

One of the side effects of the endless rain we've had here is the explosion of odd wild flowers. These are growing in the woods behind my office, poking their little viney selves through the chain link fence.





On cloudy days (most days lately) the red is almost flourescent against the green foliage.

    You all deserve a treat of flowers to make up for all that rain. Flooded san Antonio was on the evening news again, way out here in CA.

    It's a Turk's cap, Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii.
