Oy

I am a bad, bad parent. I refilled lion kitty Maxx's prescription last night, and while reading the label, I realized that I had been giving him his antibiotics incorrectly for the past month. I wasn't giving him enough.

No wonder he tried to run off with a co-ed last night.

(I shall slink away in shame now.)

4LG, you are a good, good, overwhelmed and stressed out kitty parent. Everybody makes mistakes. Why just recently, after some severe lacerating of the bloodletting variety, we decided Gustav's health was less important than the integrity of our integuments and left him blissfully unpilled, if a tad encrusted about the nose and eye regions. (In my own defense, I will say that I wiped his face 2-4 times daily, very gently, with a warm damp towel, which I then handwashed, while feeding him extra treaties.)
So now we know why poor Maxx was drooling. However, that had nothing to do with his running off with a coed. Maxx is a conoisseur of Teh Cute, and will run off (temporarily) with any cute thang that comes his way. Even little lizard-snackies.

Hey, just a darn minute. The vet should have verbally gone over the instructions with you before giving you the pills. If they didn't, they screwed up. That's my two cents, anyway. (Some decades ago I worked at an animal hospital, and the vets would always go through the instructions with the owners to make sure everything was clear.)

Not to say you don't have a good vet; I'm sure it was just a slip, but still, you don't need to slink away in shame. My heavens, we all know you are an extremely conscientious parent, NOT a "bad, bad" one.

Maxxie!!!!

I've missed you. And even your bad parent......

Make sure you read the label so you get the right dose this time.....

Not Bad, not at all a bad parent.

Just a critter with a minor failing common to all humanish races.

You might check with the vet, in case the change in dosage would need you to do anything else.

Hurrah! Cause now I'll bet your fur person conquers his infection like a cowering lizard.

I love it. Maxx' fan club chastises The Centaur for daring to insinuate that he might be a bad parent! Have you any idea how many fans Maxx has? Be at peace, you and Maxx. I'm sure everything will come out alright in the end.
