A reminder...

... that the spark of the divine can lurk in the most unlikely packages. Even homely girls can harbor big talents and deserve their shot at glory.

Susan Boyle's performance brought tears to my eyes. Word is that Simon Cowell's label is going to sign her - what a marvelous Cinderella story. Enjoy!

Here's the longer version:

Thanks for posting that! I never watch those shows, partly because I hate Simon Cowell, but that was a m a z i n g !!!! I look forward to hearing more from her in the future. By the way, do you recall the pictures of Celine Dion before her transformation? Another big surprise in a plain box.

You're welcome Jim B.

Oh Susannah, no, it's on british tv - doesn't air in the US. Just heard about it and was blown away when I watched the video.

The guts it took just to stand on that stage, especially when at the very beginning when they were rather contemptuous of her.

Go Susan!

Thanks for the link to the longer version.
I'd like to hear her voice without the crowd noise, tho I'm so glad they cheered her performance.

Bonus points for Susan Boyle: In the longer version you linked to (thank you) she said that she has a cat named Pebbles.

She was interviewed on CBS Early Show today. Susan has the spirit and sass to match her voice. It's going to be fun to watch her blossom into an international star!

Her story was in the L.A. Times this morning. Oh, she will be signed--the Times says agents and others are now scrabbling for a few minutes of her attention. She's pretty scrappy, but I hope she gets some good honest people to represent and help her.

flory, I think there's no question she'll get both a record deal and a gig in musical theatre. She has that rare quality of a big voice that conveys real emotion.
