Yeah. Mebbe the original infection never really went completely away if he's always scratching at his mouth. Mebbe its just been low grade and all the scratching just flared it up again.
Any easier time getting him to take the meds this time round?

Oh, poor Maxx! Fever, pain, and swollen lymph nodes, it sez. No wonder he's been camera-shy. You know how stoic cats are. When in pain, avoid others, seems to be their philosophy. Is he on azithromycin? Yuckiferousness. A little butter helps it go down, Maxx. You really should tell how you hooked up with the Lion Kitty, 4LG. I looked through your archives, but couldn't find anything substantive. Many appreciations for the LionKitty Plushypalooza.
political cat, he's not on the azithromycin yet, so far just on clinosol, which I get to squirt in his mouth with a syringe. (we'll switch over if the bartonella test comes back positive again).
He doesn't have swollen glands, just a fever and some sort of mass in his mouth, plus his gums are all swollen.
We're hoping the mass is just an abcess and not something worse.
The good news is I just gave him his second dose and he forgave me pretty quickly. He's sitting in my lap, purring, even as I type.
Oh, no!!! I'm hoping fervently with you. He's such a sweetie! I had to pill one of ours the other day, and suffice it to say that it took a week for us both to stop bleeding and hurting. And the little bastid still managed to spit out the pill. Perhaps Maxx should stay home wiv his Peeps and 4LGPeep till he feels better? Eh, Maxx?

Pate all 'round!!!
Is his mouth still bothering him? I thought it was all fixed?
(That is a very elegant feline you've let adopt you...)
What's the matter with Maxx's mouth? Why does it hurt?
Did the Alien Carrot of Doom bite Lion Kitty?
When you tell us a story, don't leave out the important details.
I thought it was better but it's not- now it's all infected again.
Poor sweetie. He's not very happy but he's being a good sport. I'm dreading giving him his medicine tonight though.
Going to the vet always traumatizes him, and today was no different.
Poor baby. How did it get infected again? Has he been associating with bad pibbles?
Maxx? Take your medicine like a good boy. Your mouf will feel better and the four legger will give you treatz.
Promise.
He may still have bartonella. Or he may have scratched his gums (he's always scratching at his mouth) and gotten it infected.
It's almost 3:00 am and he's just now starting to relax. Poor little guy. Going to the vet terrifies him.

Such a beautiful, pensive shot of Maxx. He does look a bit down in his recent shots.
Hope he's feeling much better asap!
