My question is, what took the poodle so long?
The alliance between George Bush and Tony Blair is in danger after it was revealed that the Prime Minister believes the President has 'let him down badly' over the Middle East crisis.
A senior Downing Street source said that, privately, Mr Blair broadly agrees with John Prescott, who said Mr Bush's record on the issue was 'crap'.
The source said: "We all feel badly let down by Bush. We thought we had persuaded him to take the Israel-Palestine situation seriously, but we were wrong. How can anyone have faith in a man of such low intellect?"
From the Daily Mail. Blair 'feels betrayed by Bush on Lebanon'
I'm always astounded by these politicians who act astonished to discover the chimperor's true nature. Really, it's been on display since day one. Bush's record on everything is crap. Stop being so willfully blind.

Blair couldn't have fought his way to the top of the Brit political system without being smart, at least abt other politicians.
Watching Blair handle Question Time in Parliament, he comes across as knowledgeable, glib, with the humor and snark expected in Parliament.
So why did Blair fall for the American neocon bullshit? What did he hope to gain by backing Georgie so faithfully? Did Bush promise him some huge payoff?
I can understand Bush/Cheney's evil veniality, but not a foreigner who took the risk of being remembered as "Bush's Poodle."
I guess the standard line is that Blair thought he could have more influence over US policy by playing along with Junior. Like the delusions of some Dems that there is such a thing as give-and-take; aint gonna work with the current crop of ideologues and madmen (and idiots). But also like some Dems, Blair keeps doing the same thing over and over while hoping for a different outcome. Definition of crazy, etc.
And now if he's facing 'no confidence" from Parliament, he has to release quotes (hey they have unnamed high officials close to the administration over there, just like we do here) proving his independence. Just like Bush with "stop that shit," Blair allows that Bush is "crap." A real man of the people, colloquialisms and all!
He's like a Joe Lieberman Democrat. His words have no value anymore. Bah.
