Not to put too fine a point upon it, but obviously, Maxx did! Dining al fresco, is he? Must be feeling better if he's scooping up the ambient wildlife in the Unappeasable Maw. Schmeck, Maxx.

He thinks it's great fun to chase and eat the tiny geckos that inhabit the courtyard rock garden.

Has to go chase up his own appetizers, eh?

Guess you're still not feeding him enough.

Piglet.

I like them with a sharp picante.
Great to hear he's in fine form!
A beast that can hunt is usually pretty darn healthy.

Awww!!! Da Maxx likes his hors d'ouevres lively! He wants to deliver the hors de combat himself. Kissies and ear rubs, Maxx, and be careful not to eat any spiny bits. We want you to be healthy and happy. You know how your Centaur worries.

He's still eating mega amounts of cat food.

I think he's just enjoying being a kitty.

Now that's innaresting.

When I had outdoor cats, they would simply snap the tails off the lizards they'd discovered and bring those tails in as trophies.

It never occurred to me that they were eating the rest of the lizard.

I believe I shall have nightmares tonight.

I hope he is not like my Mr Weasely, just eating the good juicy bits and leaving the left overs on the doorstep
My backporch looks like a rodent morgue some mornings!!!
(the horrid part is the little rodent families trying to id their loved ones).

Oh, no. Those lizards have detachable tails- it's so when a predator catches them, all they get is the tail. So your kitties probably weren't eating the whole lizard.

Mr. Plushy, on the other hand, gulps the little guys down whole.

The Great Plushy One doesn't share his trophies with you? No partly chewed corpses on the doorstep? No deciding if you're getting the best parts, or the leftovers?

The Plushest really ought to show his appreciation for all your faithful care with a nice gift now and then.

Lizards are the other white meat.

"Oh, no! It's Uncle George! I recognize that left hind foot!"
Madu, the ever-vigilant ginger-and-cream Hunter at our abode, recently dispatched yet another tiny mousie on the hill. I was lying on my back in the garden, watching him with disgust (it was a very cute little mousie), and I guess he decided it was time to Discipline the Human. So, mouse in mouth, he leapt - RIGHT ON TO MY BELLY - and then over my head and to freedom, as I screamed and convulsed and went into muscular spasms. At least Mr. Plushy's too sweet and polite to pull those tricks on you, 4LG.

Love to eat them mousies, little mousies what I love to eat.

Bite they little heads off,

Nibble on their tiny feet.

Hey! That's my favorite song! I used to have a Kliban T-shirt with two kitties on a fence, one with a guitar, singing that song. I used to sing it to Faridah Peeples, too, but I'm afraid she regarded my musical efforts with extreme feline disdain.
