He looks surprisingly small and vulnerable, there. The sweet face! Thanks for the Plushy fix. PS: How's his health? Appetite good, eyes bright? Tail's certainly bushy. Off the antibiotics yet?
Everbody's sorry that The Plushy One almost starved as a youngster … tho there are geriatric researchers whose studies show lab rats live longer on severely restricted diets. And anecdotal "evidence" of human longevity in backward mountainous regions where diets were healthy but abstemious.
So maybe Maxx's life will be prolonged. Remember that tiny dogs live much longer than Great Danes and St. Bernards.
[No caveat emptor here. This is all true: somewhat different from my musings on Maxx and Mesopotamian flowerpots.]
Only about 10.5 pounds. I think almost starving as a youngster stunted his growth. Poor little buddy.
------------------ Good grief! That's tiny for a Maine Coon. Which he definitely is, at least partly. Bandicoot weighs in at a whopping ~18 lb and Zingiber is close to 22 lb! When ZB sits on my hip, he can comfortably wrap his paws around my neck. MaxxMuffin would be just an armful of cat! Poor kid! I forget they dumped him as a babe. Please extend my deepest regards and a firm smooch or to to Mr. Plushy. Goodnight to you and Maxx. And thanks so much for the health update. I'll calendar it.

To which I say: That he most certainly does. Why, look at the adoring gaze he casts in your direction! And how patiently he holds still for the annoying flashy thingy and StuffOnCat porn! My beasts subject me to hours of nibbling and head and toe-licking just for *trying* to get a shot. Forget StuffOnMyCats. I'd be et down to the bone. Thank you for the Maxx. I must beat mine most severely for failing to live up to Maxx' high standards. Disclaimer: In this feline-ruled household, beatings are administered by means of coat-brushment and ear-root massage. No one's complained yet.
mestizo, 28 lb???? Wow, Otis was bigger than many children! 4LG, you're right about growth. Why the FatBoyz were quite svelte in their misspent yoof - clocking in at a mere 10-12 lb at 2 yrs - so there's every hope that Maxx will put on some bone and muscle. And the way you spoil him with pate and kibble knibbles, that's entirely possible. %^) Besides, size doesn't count. Gojira's only ~8 lb, and she's the queen of this roost. Not that I'm spoiling Maxx or anything, but here's some virtual pate, Baby. And a couple of lizard-snackies for amuse-bouche.
Hope everything is o.k. with you 4Legs! This is most unusual -- hope you haven't tired of your (and Lion Kitty Maxx's) minions. Although, of course, you as much as anyone else needs a vacation, so if that's the case -- enjoy!

He's got another 5 and 1/2 weeks left.
Appetite is good though, and his mood is excellent. As for size, he's actually not that big of a cat.

Well camoflauged in that vegetation, isn't he?

je t'aime Maxx!
He's only 2, and maine coons don't reach their full size until age 3 or so, so he may grow some yet.
Anyhoo, what he lacks in size, he makes up for in heart.

maxx's look-a-like my love Otis, was 28# in his prime. we would take him walking on a leash. would stop traffic.
maxx still might grow alittle, but what he lacks in size, he makes up in grace.
later dudes.

Somehow, in this picture, he really looks like a wild cat. Not his usual wide-eyed beautiful self. More edgy and big-cat-like.
Glad he's feeling better, but it'll be great when he gets off the antibiotics.
I'm following his progress with affectionate interest.
