RIP Habeas Corpus

Jonathan Turley on Countdown just now:
"This congress has just handed the president despotic powers."

I wonder when the American public is going to wake up? And are republicans aware that the Military Commissions Act of 2006 applies to American citizens?

Guess what, republicans? President Hillary Clinton is going to be able to lock your cracker asses up and throw away the key. How do you like those apples?

Stupid fucks.

And Ken Mehlman, you fucking penis head, kiss my centaur ass.

No, Pres. Hillary isn't going to be able to lock the cracker asses up and throw away the key.

For all her faults, Hillary is a decent American. She isn't going to go for using despotic power. If the Supremes don't declare this piece of fascist crap unconstitutional soon.

Would Scalito and Roberts vote to ignore our Constitution? Would they be willing to go down in history that way?

Meant to wish you good health and getting better soon.

Both critters in the household, all eight legs of you.

Does Maxx like chicken soup? It'd be good for you both.

Not my point. My point is that any president, no matter how horrible or misguided, will now have the power to do just that.

This is the clause that will save us. Despite what Turley had to say about Justice Kennedy's willingness to support Congress's actions, I don't see the Supreme Court permitting this to stand. I think Kennedy made his comments believing the bill would apply only to foreign nationals, not American citizens. I don't even see Roberts supporting this abortion.

flory, you are more optimistic than I am.

In a sane world, you would be right. I don't think we're in a sane world any longer.

Polly, 4LG is right. President Clinton II might not want to arrest, torture, hold without habeas, but according to the bill the Idiot'nThief just signed, she - and any other pol who follows her into that position - can. Deity help us now.

Bush will stop at nothing to elevate his sorry-ass fiasco in Iraquagmire to the status of a war for national security. There is literally nothing he will not sacrifice to save his ass.

As he has said,

"You never know what your history is going to be like until long after you're gone."

There is nothing he will not arrest, torture, invade, bomb, pervert, fabricate, classify or misrepresent to delay that reckoning with history.
