Still missing. I've put flyers up and notified as many people as I can to look out for him. I'm going down to the shelter where all strays and lost animals are taken. They couldn't tell me anything over the phone, they said I needed to come down and look for myself.
More later. Thanks for everyone's prayers.

Take care, flg. My heart is aching, and I can't stop thinking about my neighbour's dog... She had cancer and disappeared a few months back and didn't come home. A day or so later, my neighbour found her in a nearby park, curled up like she'd gone to sleep, dead. *snif* I hope that's not the case, and Mr. Plushy comes back safe and sound. He's such a beautiful, sweet cat. My heart is breaking for you.
Thanks so much for the updates. We're all pulling for you. If you think there's anything I can do, please e-mail me at interroblog at gmail dot com.
Now that I'm thinking a bit more coherently (past the "Oh NO!" feeling a bit), one suggestion I've heard for finding missing cats is to surround your house with things that smell like you and him, so perhaps putting your dirty underwear on the clothesline or his litterbox on the porch... I don't know what your living arrangement is, so consider those to be suggestions.
He's got a collar with a nametag, right? Why would anyone assume he was a stray? I wish I was there. I'd go door-to-door with you, ringing and knocking. I just know he's out there somewhere. I hope some kindly neighbour is keeping an eye out in case he sneaks home.
oh Im still praying as hard as humanly possible....{{{{{come home Maxx dear}}}}}

political cat, his name isn't on his collar, it keeps falling off.
Everyone around here knows him though, because he's so friendly.
Oh, FLG, I am far away from your location, but sending "come home safely and soon" vibes to Maxx...
Remember to stay hydrated yourself. Does he have a dry food he loves? Even my cat that was a soft food eater responded by appearing when thought lost to hearing the shake of a box of dry cat food...that and the sound of a can opener. Big comforting witchy hugs from me, stay hopeful, stay focussed.

I'm still praying here. Thank you for keeping us updated.

Prayers, yes. And much, much hope. Once had a cat go missing for 3 months. A neighbor described a cat that could've been her looking like an urban coyote had gotten hold. . . . Totally lost hope after that. One evening, she walked up to me and meowed as though she'd never been gone.
checking every hour. This Lion Kitty is LOVED so much.

Sending you courage, patience, and comfort, FLG. Have faith in Maxx's feline instincts - kitties are wiley and resourceful. {{hugs}}

Come Home Maxx!
4lg, thanks for the update. You're back, which means Maxx was not at the shelter. Won't you be mad at the silly furry purry if it turns out he was with a neighbour all along! Mad enough to kiss his nose. I'll keep checking back. Rest, stay warm and hydrated, and try the old favorite tricks - opening cans, shaking boxes of dry food.
