Back when he still had his lion cut- killing his carrot.
This was taken the weekend Hurricane Katrina came in.
He loved him some feathers on a stick.
The physicist!
Life with Maxx was fun. I will always miss him.

Thank you, 4Legs!
What a gorgeous creature he was! He will always be alive to us through your pictures.
My heart still sinks a little every time I see his photo.
The gurlz have wormed their way into my heart, too, so that helps.
I'm glad you keep letting us visit with our Maxxie.
He was such a handsome boy.

He was indeed.
Flory, any earthquake damage?
Life with Maxx was fun. I will always miss him.
I know what you mean. Boy, do I know.
Here's to all those whose orbits have diverged from ours!
Yes, why can't they live forever? It's not fair.
Hello, Maxx. I'm with you, Sandy. His picture still brings tears..but the beautiful girls certainly do a lot to ease that...
Flory, any earthquake damage?
Nah. Thanks for asking.
Woke me up, tho. It was only a couple miles from me.

On the other hand, Maxx may already have been reborn as a new critter.
Was Maxx a Buddhist?
If Maxx has been reborn, what kind of critter would he have chosen to be? He would have had a choice because he earned so much credit in his life with Four Legs.
Miss Ripley! Miss Ripley …
[jumps straight up, waving tail to draw attention]
Harry Potter is a very big thing to humans and centaurs. Do let yours have some time off to read this new toy. [Yes, books can be toys to our kittenslaves.]
I let my kittenslave have a break now and then from the constant cooing, petting, scritching etc.
It seems to refresh her.

Despite that fact I don't really believe in supernatural things, I find myself wishing for a pet heaven out there somewhere. A place where Maxx and my little KeKee and everyone elses lost pets can be.
Backyard Astronomer
I don't believe in God or the supernatural either, but I do believe in Pet Heaven. Given their innocence, where else could they be?
BTW, there are two excellent children's picture books called Dog Heaven and Cat Heaven, both by author Cynthia Rylant. They attempt to explain to small children what happens when our pets die but the lyrical prose and creative artwork makes the message quite comforting to adults as well.
The Plushiness that was Maxx will alwys be remembered.
Ay, Max, I barely knew ye but you were a gorgeous boy... and you live on in our hearts.
Thank you for the Maxx pixx! How many delightful frolics the sweet boy had. Maddie and Ripley ease the pain, but I can't see Maxx without missing him deeply and painfully.
