Interesting you should have a lightning post. I came home last night to a neighborhood full of fire trucks. Seems that lightning hit one of the old barns on the farm next door and it went up like a matchbox. I missed the whole thing, but Tux was standing in the driveway all bug-eyed. The sirens and noise must have been terrible.

We had amazing lightning in central Vermont Monday night: cloud-to-cloud lightning. I've never seen anythiing like it -- flashing back and forth and so fast that there wasn't any thunder (blinding rain, though). It was awesome. Last night there had to have been a direct hit across the way -- I saw the bolt of lightning touch the ground and heard a huge bang that startled all three cats and me.
