Friday Kitty-cat blogging

Retro plushy!!

The vet is saying the bartonella test won't be back for another week (grrrr). In the meantime, the receptionist said it's fine that he's out of antibiotics, he can wait another week. (double grrrrr) "No, go back and speak to the doctor again. We do not want Mr. Plushy to have a relapse since his mouth isn't healed yet, now do we?" No call-back yet.

In the meantime, Mr. Plushy felt well enough to go out for a prowl last night and to play with his particle accelerator. If he'd just start killing his carrot again I'd feel we were really getting somewhere.

Update:
The vet called back and said antibiotics should continue for the time being. I'm sure lion kitty Maxx will be annoyed, but I'm relieved.

My late cat Nikki had runny eyes for his entire life. The vet never could figure out what the deal was, so we eventually gave up.

He lived to be 18 in spite of it.

All these sick kitties, why is that?

It's got Karl Rove written all over it.

3 more hours till Hidey sees her vet.

Get well Maxx.

Not Hidey too! I've got two sickies but they've mostly recovered. 4LG, that b/w shot of retro Maxx is gorgeous. That boy specializes in Looking Good, doesn't he?

They do love their particle accelerators don't they? My Mr.Weasely covered his with Power Puff Girl stickers though...what's up with that?

Double grrrrr....

Bad receptionist!

Glad he's feeling well enough to play and prowl.

When he's willing to take on the Peep Hordes again, I'll know he's fully recovered.

SCRITCH, SCRITCH, SCRITCH!

I'm glad you're feeling better, Maxx!

Admirable of Maxx to get back to his homework with the particle accelerator before playing with a toy.

I'm depending on the Lion Kitty to find the unified field theory and help us escape this dimension before the Bushies make a complete catastrophy.

Does anybody know if Einstein had a cat?

Well there's always Schrodinger's cat, but I'm not so sure we want to go there.

Maxx looks great in noir. Maxx Danger, Lion Kitty Detective would make a great movie.

FYI, don't stop the antibiotics until all the tests show otherwise.

The last thing you want is a colony of bacteria that are developing a resistance to the antibiotics.

I assume that the abscess is still draining well? That's important.

As for the weight issue, see if Maxx likes stout. It's essentially liquid bread, and was often given to malnourished patients, including children, in the U.K.. Don't give him too much, lest you have a drunken cat on your hands.

You might also try different cat foods, as well as bits of people food and see if that helps add on a few pounds to the fellow.

Hey -- mebbe you could invent a kitty version of Ensure, for kitties with sore moufs.

Make your fortune. You and Maxx could retire.....

No update on Maxx' condition? The Plushy Fan Club worries.

Maybe I could just try ensure.

He is eating though- just not as much as I'd like. He's acting pretty chipper though- he was playing last night and quite frisky.

Stout! Now that does sound nourishing, and 4Legs could finish the bottle after the Great Plushy One has his share.

Remember when you gave him vanilla ice cream, when he was first sick and not eating cat food? Maxx liked ice cream a lot, didn't he?

You deserve a weekend off from posting. Being a nurse is hard on a centaur, what with all the self-currying and hoof filing a centaur must do.

the politicalcat my grandmother said, in worrysome times "No post is good news."
