Anonymous said...: Buckeye, be very careful about infection from cat bites. They can quickly become serious. Two friends wound up in the hospital for a couple of days from bites after their cat got in a panic about something.; 10:34 PM

Anonymous said...: Ripley Sweetheart, the eatage part is OK. That lets our kittenslaves know how much we like them.

But watch ur claws. Properly sharpened claws tend to make our kitslaves shriek. They're oddly delicate sometimes.

I envy U ur finch feeders. All we've got is hummingbirds, who have No respect for us fierce felines.

Anonymous said...: Maxxine was bleeding me gud (scratching, not biting) every day until quite recently. (Have a big ol' bottle of rubbing alcohol in the bafroom for dousing wounds!) Hardly ever happens nau, unless we're play too rough and I'm not paying attention. She's just about a year old, so I guess she's finally grown out of it. ;); 8:02 AM

Anonymous said...: Buckeye, see a doctor. I've rarely gotten bit hard by a cat, but if it goes deeper than just a few mm, it will get infected. Better to nip it (so to speak) in the bud.

Lily has started to nom a little bit, but as she crosses the one-year mark, I think it's just a phase.

Anonymous said...: Cat bite first aid per my doctor....
Immediately run warm water full blast over the wound for at least five minutes to clean. Wash with soapy water and rinse again for 5 minutes. Apply antibiotic cream. If the bite is deep, go to the doctor or clinic immediately. Go to doctor for antibiotics at the FIRST sign of any redness or throbbing. A red line extending outward from the wound means a trip to the emergency room is in order. Keep tetanus shot up to date.

Teach kittens not to bite; even play-biting is bad. You never know when a cat might be frightened and bite hard as a reaction.; 6:55 PM
