Well, it's not surprising, after all. She came from a house with both adult cats and several kittens. And when her lovely centaur needs to work to put kitty vittles in the bowl, li'l Maddie probably gets lonely.
So a friend may be a good idea. And it wouldn't have to be an expensive friend - there are lots of nice puddies down at the Humane Society waiting for families. Two of my four have come from there. (Just an idea...)
That's right, Political Cat, egg her on! Maybe what 4Legs will get will be TWO whirlwinds to contend with. Oh, boy! My two Siamese used to roar around the apartment, practically bouncing off the walls sometimes. This went on for years and years -- one was 18 when he died and the other died a couple of years earlier.
Can we vote on color and fur patterns? What color would best complement Maddie's multi shades of brown? A solid color kitten, or patterned? Short hair or long hair?
What shades and pattern will make the best pix, combined with Maddie? This requires thought.
Arise, all ye Maddie lovers!
Unite to help the Kittenslave in this decision which will affect his photos for years to come!
Having a pair is the best thing we ever did! Our boys came from the same litter and have been together for 6 years. It definetely helped our sanity and increased the entertainment factor.
We, the United Maddie Lovers of the Internets can certainly spend two weeks discussing the ideal companion kitty for our Princess.
No pressure meant toward the Kittenslave, who also has a vote here.
(Sorry I goofed by mentioning "short hair" as a possibility. What was I thinking? Doubtless influenced by a short-hair sitting on the perch beside my desk chair.)
It has to be a long-haired red/ginger boy. Ginger cats are very, very affectionate and sweet-natured, on the whole, and Maddy needs a boy to love her and spoil her. Girls tend to be small-space territorial, whereas boys are large-space territorial, so they get along well with girls, never noticing that their territory might have been impinged upon. Of course, Maddie's is the final choice - she must approve of Paddy O'Kitten, but I'm sure she'll find a boy who will worship her as she deserves.

4LG, I told her that you were bringing Paddy O'Kitten home to keep her company. She promised to be a little devil till her friend arrives. Tee hee.

i volunteer!
A friend helps. Kittens need to chew on each other, and therefore leave their people in peace (sorta)

Hah! So the master plan is working. I told her....er..that is...I mean *she told me* she was lonely when you're gone...
Yeah. That's it....
(Then again -- with those eyes as a secret weapon, the outcome was inevitable...)
(BTW -- did you check Target Online for her feather sticks?)
Flory, yes, no luck.
As for kittens, long hair is a prerequisite. They must BE PLUSHY!!!
And everyone simmer down, I'm extremely busy for the next couple of weeks, no time to hunt for a companion.
As for color, maybe a grey one? or a black and white one?

Nuthing wrong with short haired kitties, I'm just partial to the plushy kind.
