Cats

Sorry, didn't get a chance to photograph them last night. This will have to hold you guys until later.

They both went to the vet this morning. Maddie got pre-surgery bloodwork, and Ripley got her first "wellness" checkup with her real vet. She seems to be in fine shape except for a reaction to her staples (the vet said that it's common and since it doesn't seem to be painful or infected, nothing to worry about).

Poor Ripley, she seemed rather dejected. I think she thought I was going to leave her there. When we got home she purred and purred.

Update: Maddie looks all grown up, doesn't she?

FLG, oooh, poor Ripley! One of my kiddenz many moons ago was dropped off at the Humane Society for his neuter by my roommate...and I collected him later that day. He was super affectionate to me after than and was rather reserved around thd roommate for a long time after that. He viewed the roommate as the 'bad man' and I was his 'angel of rescue' (or however cats think). At least when I took my Amelie there a couple of years back, they have a seperate area for the s/n dropoffs and pickups - so it isn't nearly as trauma filled. :)
Blessings on both of them - and YOU too!!!

Thanks everyone- she's fine, she's just had a lot of trauma the past 2 weeks. She still needs some booster shots and to get her staples out, but the worst is behind her.

She's putting on weight and she and Madeleine are getting along fine- they even touch noses now.

Cats are always soooooo happy to get out of the vet's office. Mine yowl all the way there, but are quiet on the way home.

As it happens all 3 of ours get to go tonight. Max & Tux just get the 10,000 mile checkup (well-kitty check and rabies shots), but Nick has a persistent cough and runny eyes. I suspect it's a lingering respiratory infection, but now that he has a heart murmur, we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Not looking forward to the 20-minute drive tonight!

That's so sweet. Little Ripley knows where 'home' is.

Yay!

Yeah Flory, she does. She's starting to follow me around now.

It's a balancing act. I try to fuss over her without making Maddie feel neglected.

Just Maddie so far. I'm trying to convince Ripley that it's the excellent place to snooze at night.

Poor kidden. Life is so traumatic for the little ones when they get dumped and rescued. Faridah didn't let me out of her sight for weeks after I brought her back from her s/n. Maddie is looking alarmingly adult. Glad they're friends, and you have two such precious pusses to go home to.
