Most of the time uncovered exterior light, ie street lights, porch lights, signs are horrid blights on the night sky...save for this time of year.
Here in Cripple Creek I've been known to drag family members/room-mates out of warm beds to see 'the pretty lights'...this happens when there is no wind and the air is so full of ice crystals they just hang in the air, hundreds of thousands of brilliant prisms glimmering in the still night air forming pillars of colours above each light. Gawd, it is so fucking beautiful! Acid with out the buzz!
