Tux's tribe

Here are Max (top) and Nicky, Tux's handsome brothers. Nicky is apparently irritated that he can't be in the contest. Silly kitty.

Brothers?

A black/white, an apricot/white and a tortoise shell!

Adoptive brothers or blood brothers?

What a fine palette of cats to have in one's house.

House brothers, obviously.

My black-and-white Bandicoot has an orange striper brother. And Gojira the Gray's brother is a redhead with white bits. It's amazing the color combinations that can result in each family. Although the Coot's family were mostly black-and-white with the exception of the tortoiseshell sister and the fat redhead.

Nick is now the old man of the house. He showed up on our doorstep back in '94 when he was about 6 months old. He was very shy of men, and hated sudden movements or loud noise. I'm very afraid he came from an abusive home. He's a sweetheart now, though.

We got Max right after we got Tux - she was born in September of 2002, a couple of weeks before Tux. Got her from the local animal welfare league, and she's a real sweetheart, too. By the way, Tux is named in honor of the Patuxent, and Max is named after the Potomac, our two local rivers (one of which we live next to).

As far as Tux being a sweetheart? Not so much.
