Deshakalyan Chowdhury/AFP/Getty ImagesThis looks worse than it is- a pregnant tiger had wandered into a village and the villagers had beaten and stoned her, chasing her up a date palm. Nice forest rangers came and rescued her and returned her to the Sundabarans Tiger Preserve.
